Pl. St Agustí Vell 16

Meeting Point

Your guides will be waiting for you at our office in Plaça Sant Agustí Vell 16, right in the heart of El Born—one of Barcelona’s most historic and vibrant neighborhoods. Keep in mind that in a city as old as Barcelona, some places have similar names, so be sure you’re heading to Sant Agustí Vell to start your experience.

Once everyone is ready, your guide will introduce you to your eBike, explaining how it works and giving you a brief safety overview to make sure you feel comfortable before setting off. You’ll also get a quick preview of what to expect on the ride. Before we officially begin, you’ll have the chance to take a short test ride to ensure everything is adjusted to your liking.

With everything in place, it’s time to embark on your unforgettable journey beyond the city, towards the stunning Mediterranean coast and the vineyards of Alella!

The Born Centre Cultural:

A Window into Barcelona’s Past

Our first stop is at the Born Centre Cultural, a fascinating space that blends history, archaeology, and modern Barcelona. This former market, now a museum, houses the excavated remains of the 18th-century city, offering a glimpse into Barcelona’s past.

Here, we’ll take a moment to check our bikes and ensure that everything is running smoothly. It’s the perfect spot to make any final adjustments, get comfortable with your eBike, and ask any last-minute questions before we set off on our journey beyond the city.

While we’re here, take in the striking iron-and-glass architecture of this historic building and soak up the atmosphere of El Born, one of Barcelona’s most vibrant and culturally rich neighborhoods.

Parliament of Catalonia:

History at the Heart of Ciutadella Park

As we ride into Ciutadella Park, we’ll come across one of Barcelona’s most significant political landmarks—the Parliament of Catalonia. This grand, red-brick building was originally designed as a military arsenal in the 18th century before being transformed into the seat of the Catalan Parliament.

Here, we’ll take a short break to admire the historic architecture and learn about the role this institution has played in Catalonia’s past and present. The setting, surrounded by the park’s greenery and peaceful atmosphere, makes it an ideal spot to pause, adjust our bikes if needed, and take in the beauty of one of Barcelona’s most iconic parks.

With the Parliament standing as a symbol of Catalan identity, this stop offers a fascinating contrast between history, politics, and the vibrant natural surroundings. Once we’re all set, we’ll continue our journey, gradually leaving the city behind as we ride towards the coast.

Port Olímpic:

Barcelona’s Iconic Seaside Hub

The old Port of Barcelona. In Medieval times there was a lot of movement in this port. Imagine: Barcelona was part of the Crown of Aragon and the territories of Corsega, Cerdeña and Napoles were part of this Crown. There were commercial relations with all these places, cultural exchange, information transmission. Those were good times for the city! It was already a cosmopolitan city.

Forum:

Where Modern Barcelona Meets the Mediterranean

As we continue our ride, we arrive at Forum, one of Barcelona’s most striking modern developments. Built for the 2004 Universal Forum of Cultures, this area represents the city’s commitment to sustainability, innovation, and contemporary urban design. Unlike the historic streets of El Born or Ciutadella Park, here you’ll find expansive open spaces, cutting-edge architecture, and a stunning coastline.

This is a great spot to pause, take in the views of the Mediterranean, and ensure our bikes are running smoothlybefore we continue. The wide cycling paths and modern infrastructure make for an effortless ride, allowing us to leave the urban energy behind and embrace the peaceful coastal road ahead.

With the sea breeze at our backs, we’ll soon begin to experience a different side of Catalonia—one that blends urban transformation with the natural beauty of the Mediterranean coastline.

Pont del Petroli:

A Scenic Walkway Over the Mediterranean

As we ride along the coast, we reach Pont del Petroli, one of Badalona’s most iconic landmarks. Originally built in the 1960s as an industrial pier for unloading petroleum, this structure was later transformed into a public walkway, offering stunning panoramic views over the Mediterranean Sea.

Stretching 250 meters out into the water, the bridge provides a unique perspective of the coastline, making it a favorite spot for photographers, cyclists, and those looking to enjoy a peaceful moment by the sea. Beneath the pier, the clear waters are home to diverse marine life, making it a popular site for divers and nature enthusiasts.

Here, we’ll take a short break to appreciate the sea breeze, the gentle sound of the waves, and the striking contrast between Badalona’s industrial past and its vibrant present. After soaking in the views, we’ll continue our journey along the coast, heading deeper into Catalonia’s beautiful seaside landscapes.

Alella:

A Hidden Gem in Catalonia’s Wine Country

Nestled between the Mediterranean coast and the rolling hills of the Serralada Litoral, Alella is a charming Catalan town known for its rich winemaking heritage, elegant architecture, and tranquil atmosphere. Despite being just a short ride from Barcelona, Alella feels like a world away, offering a peaceful escape from the city’s energy.

This small yet prestigious town is famous for its D.O. Alella wines, some of the finest in the region, produced in vineyards that have thrived for centuries. As we ride through its narrow, picturesque streets, you’ll see historic Indianos mansions, built by Catalans who made their fortunes in the Americas and returned to invest in their homeland.

With its stunning landscapes, deep-rooted traditions, and exceptional wines, Alella is the perfect place to slow down, take in the beauty of the surroundings, and enjoy a true taste of Catalonia’s wine country.

Bouquet de Alella:

Wine Tasting in a Boutique Vineyard

Surrounded by rolling vineyards and breathtaking views of the Mediterranean, Bouquet d’Alella is a family-run boutique winery that proudly carries on the region’s centuries-old winemaking tradition. Nestled in the heart of Alella’s Denomination of Origin (D.O.), this vineyard produces some of the most prestigious and exclusive wines in Catalonia.

Here, we’ll take a well-deserved break to enjoy a guided wine tasting, where you’ll have the chance to savor their most renowned wines, each reflecting the unique character of the land. From crisp whites to elegant reds, every sip tells a story of heritage, craftsmanship, and passion for winemaking.

With the Mediterranean breeze and stunning vineyard views all around, this stop is more than just a tasting—it’s an immersive experience that connects you to the flavors, history, and essence of Catalan wine culture.

From Vineyards to the City:

Coastal Views on Our Way Back

After savoring the exquisite wines of Bouquet d’Alella, we hop back on our eBikes and begin our ride back towards Barcelona. The return journey allows us to enjoy the beautiful coastal scenery once more, with the Mediterranean breeze accompanying us as we glide effortlessly along the seaside paths.

As we leave behind the tranquil vineyards and charming streets of Alella, we retrace our route through Masnou, Montgat, and Badalona, passing by the Pont del Petroli, a final chance to soak in the open sea views. Riding through the Forum and Port Olímpic, we gradually transition from the peaceful coastline back into the city’s vibrant rhythm.

Our journey comes full circle as we arrive back in El Born, where we began. Here, in one of Barcelona’s most historic and lively neighborhoods, you’ll have the perfect opportunity to continue exploring, relax in one of its many cafés, or reflect on the incredible experience of discovering Catalonia beyond the city.
